Hello Wild & Precious Ones 🙂
The year so far has certainly been quite... let's call it... interesting.
I trust that you and your loved ones are staying safe, healthy and positive, and may we all experience the best year ever.
I've kicked off this year by overwhelming my most patient Draughtsman, Johnny, at the fabrication plant, with four separate emails, containing all the new designs I completed while others were stuffing their faces with Christmas pudding. But Johnny is a trooper, and I picked up my orders shortly after.
New Product Range - Wall Hooks:
I am so proud to present that I have also designed a range of Wall Hooks (Coat Hangers/Key Holders) for use inside or outside of the house. Like all my products, they are manufactured from 3mm Mild Steel, Lasercut to perfection, and Powder-coated for durability, with lightly textured ferro-grain in mat black, to display the detail of the designs clearly. These hooks are the perfect accessory in your home or garden, for use to hang jackets, keys, kitchen utensils, gardening equipment etc.
Wall Hook Wildlife 2 - HW2
The current designs include Daschund, Lion and Cub, Rhino and Baby, Elephant and Baby. Not all of my character designs are suitable for use on the Wall Hooks, but I will add designs as I go along! Priced at R350 each, they include the screws (black, of course), and wall plugs necessary to mount them securely. All Wall hooks are 30cm wide, the height of the designs differ.

You may remember that my day job as Co-Founder of Wild Heart Wildlife Foundation, involves working with the real-life beauties pictured in my designs. In fact, a good percentage of my profit goes towards funding this registered NPO and PBO. As a transparent, South African-based Organization, we make sure that the money donated by corporates and the public, actually reaches the wildlife most in need. Families of Fairies:
Many years ago, I designed the first Fairy Garden Spikes available in South Africa. Like now, my designs were high quality, 3mm Steel, lasercut, powder-coated. I supplied all the big Nurseries, Builder's Warehouse etc. Soon my designs were copied, and I saw poor similes being sold on the streets, some cut out of tin, some cut with a blow-torch. One of the big steel manufacturers even copied and pressed my designs, and sold them as raw pieces to contractors. It was disheartening.
But today, I am pleased to announce that the Fairies have returned to the land of Wild & Precious, and they will soon be available for adoption. They have been re-designed, and sport a solid 12.5cm spike (see detail) to keep them securely in your lawn or flowerbed. They will be sold as a set, and they are beautiful.

Sad let-downs:
Being a solo entrepeneur (I believe #Solopreneur is an actual word now), it's easy to get overwhelmed, and make decisions which are not necessarily in your own best interest. Personally, I'm a people-pleaser, and although it makes for excellent customer service, it's not exactly the best trait to have when dealing with less-than-ethical clients. Part of the service that I offer, is to do certain custom designs, for which I do not charge a design fee, provided it forms part of my permanent product range (think specific dog breeds etc). For instance, I would have no problem doing a Labrador design for a client, because it is a very popular dog breed, and I will most likely encounter loads of people passionate about Labs, and wanting to show off that passion in their homes and gardens (and that equals buying the product from me). My passion for pleasing people and funneling my creativity let me down recently, and I can literally kick myself for allowing it to happen.
So now I'm sitting with 2 x Wall Hooks and 2 x Wall Brackets featuring Bedlington Terriers, looking for homes, and unless I get an actual pre-order payment from anyone, no more will be made. So if you know anyone with one of these, let me know, so I can recover a portion of my costs. These items are R350 each.
